Sino-Belarusian Research Center of Philosphy and Culture Established at LNU

The unveiling ceremony

LNU News Center: The morning of September 27 saw the unveiling ceremony of the Sino-Belarusian Research Center of Philosophy and Culture joint-founded by LNU and the National Academy of Science and Philosophy of Belarus. This is am important move, guided by the One Belt One Road initiative, towards the implementation of the order of the Ministry of Education to carry out “cultivation and construction of national and regional research bases, and efforts will be made to build the Center into a demonstrative project of Sino-Belarusian cultural exchange that involves itself in the One Belt One Road initiative. 

Lazarevich Anatoly, dean of the Philosophy Research Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Hanklonak Eha, dean of the Training School for Scientific Researchers of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Li Daiming, deputy director of Zhanjing Foreign Affairs Bureau, Luo Haiou, party secretary of LNU, Liu Minggui, president of LNU, and Huang Wei and Lan Yanze, vice presidents of LNU, were present at the meeting.


Lazarevich Anatoly read the congratulatory letter from the president of National Academy of Belarus in which he asserts China’s contribution and wisdom in the preservation of and development of world philosophy; the foundation of the Center would promote the development of philosophical and cultural research between China and Belarus. He hoped the Center would strengthen the cooperation in economic and cultural construction and philosophical and cultural research between the two countries.


Luo Haiou read the notice of the establishment of the Center. Liu Minggui, in this speech, said that this was another important cooperative effort with the Belarusian academic and educational circles following the success in 2015 of the Confucius classroom held with Belarusian National Sport University. Efforts should be made to build the Center into an influential academic research institution and a base of research and exchange in both countries, and promote the progress of joint training of graduate students.

The two sides the sign the Sino-Belarusian Research Center of Philosophy and Culture cooperation agreement to carry out cooperation and exchange in such fields as academic research, academic exchange, and high-level talent training. Cooperative research will be done in Chinese philosophy, western philosophy, Marxist philosophy, and other philosophical fields that interest both sides. MA and PhD students of philosophy, history, culture, and sociology will be joint trained. Academic exchanges like mutual visits and mutual appointments will be promoted. A high-level, globally influential academic forum, Sino-Belarusian Philosophical and Cultural Research, will be established. Symposiums on Chinese and Belarusian social culture, traditional culture, and modern construction against the background of the One Belt One Road initiative will be held.


After the meeting, Luo Haiou and other leaders accompanied the Belarusian guests on a tour of the library, the gymnasium, the tea art house, and places of interest on the campus such as the Ancient Banyan Square, Wenqu Garden, Shidao Garden, and Wendao Garden, telling them about the construction, history, famous graduates and professors of the campus. Lazarevich Anatoly complimented on the rich culture of LNU.  


IN the afternoon, a meeting was held at the Center where they had a discussion about future development, fields of cooperative research and joint training of PhD students.
