LNU News Center: on December 3, the Gala Night of the 5th Lingnan Tour by Excellent Taiwan Students in Guangdong themed with “Different Entrepreneurial Dreams of Young Talents, and Same Chinese Feelings among Guangdong and Taiwan Students” was held at the Concert Hall. Wang Zhenyu, Deputy Chief of Bureau of Exchange of State Council Taiwan Affairs Office; Zhao Fang, Consultant-Director of Bureau of Exchange of State Council Taiwan Affairs Office; Huang Dahai, Deputy Secretary of CPC LNU Committee; Liu Xiaoqing, Standing Director of Guangdong Province Cross-Strait Exchange Promotion Association; Mo Daiyou, Zhenjiang Office of Taiwan Affairs, watched the performance.
On behalf of the University, Huang Dahai extended warm welcome to the members of Lingnan Tour group, noting that LNU has explored the cooperation and exchange with high institutions in Taiwan on teaching, scientific research and talent cultivation, established normalized cooperation platforms composed of one summer camp, one special education program, four high-end seminars and two centers, and grown into one of high institutions that have made great achievements in the cross-Strait exchange and cooperation. Huang also hoped the students on both sides of Taiwan Strait would be able to communicate with other frequently, enhance their friendship and seek common progress.
Guangdong and Taiwan students gave brilliant performance. The gala night started with the dance Zhu Huan presented by members of LNU Students’ Artistic Group, which showed how contemporary young college students unleased their vigor and creativity to pursue their dreams. Students from Jinan University read the poetry Believing in Future to show the young generation’s courage in the face of setbacks. The chorus Contributing Concerted Efforts to Realize the China Dream by teachers of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine showed the best wishes for the reunification of the motherland. The chorus Nothing Different by students of Shenzhen University showed the young students’ aspiration for China Dream. The chorus A bit lucky by students from Sun Yat-sen University immediately lightened the atmosphere. The gala night brought exceptional performances and visual impacts as well as fun and joy to the audience.
The Lingnan Tour is an activity to boost the exchanges among teachers and students on both sides of Taiwan Straits, aiming to improve the cross-Strait relations. A total number of 105 teachers and students from 8 Guangdong schools including Jinan University, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and Shenzhen University set off on the Tour. During the 7-day event, the teachers and students respectively visited Dongguan, Jiangmen, Maoming, Zhanjiang and other regions to listen to the start-up stories of Taiwan compatriots, come into direct contact with Lingnan customs and carry out cultural exchange with others.
