LNU Holds A Training Seminar on International Cooperation and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Work

LNU News Center: on the morning of November 30, the Opening Ceremony for the 2018 LNU Training Seminar on International Cooperation and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Working was held at the Concert Hall. Vice President Lan Yanze attended the opening ceremony and asked all learners should have profound understanding and effective learning of rules, regulations and requirements relating to the exchange and cooperation with schools and institutions in other countries and regions and in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, promote vertical linkage between top leaders and grassroots cadres, seek progress voluntarily and fully improve the internationalization performance of LNUs educational course.

 

Lan pointed out that over the years, LNU has been paying special attention to the exchange and cooperation with schools and institutions in other countries and regions and in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and actively promoting the exchange and cooperation with schools in Taiwan, Southeast Asia, Europe and the US by putting into practice the working principle to establish favorable platforms, deepen cooperation, and provide service and boost development. So far, LNU has entered into over 120 cooperation agreements with more than 70 schools and 30 educational institutions across the world, carried out diversified exchange and cooperation programs, and achieved satisfactory results. Lan noted that with further improvement of existing programs and the ever-increasing temporary overseas business trips, LNU was in the face of new challenges, and the training seminar was therefore of significant importance. Lan requested that different departments and secondary schools should think out of the box, gain preliminary understanding of the international cooperation and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan work, and exchange ideas and make friends at the seminar.

 

At the one-day event, leaders and experts from the Exchange and Cooperation Division of Department of Education of Guangdong Province, Overseas Business Trip Administration Division of Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office, Guangdong Center for Taiwan Studies, Working Committee for Foreign Students of Guangdong Council for Higher Education, School of International Education of South China University of Technology, Office of Zhanjiang State Security and Peoples Line of Defense Construction Group, and Zhanjiang Office of Taiwan Affairs were invited to deliver lectures about the tips for higher institutions to do well in international cooperation and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan work, the channel and approach for Guangdong-based schools to take advantage of the educational cooperation opportunities arising in the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the interpretation of policies about temporary overseas business trips and relevant, application documents and formalities, the introduction of cross-Strait relations and Chinese governments Taiwan policies, the issues about travelling to Taiwan and jointly holding conferences by LNU and Taiwan-based schools, the recruitment and management of foreign teachers and experts, the opportunities and challenges in the management of foreign students studying in China in the new era, and state securities.

 

Members of the steering group of LNU international cooperation and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan work, leaders and liaisons of international cooperation and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan work of relevant secondary units, and all staff of the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation attended the training.
