LNU Press Center News: On the morning of June 20, our school held a promotion meeting of the cooperative projects with Stockton University in the United States. Several guests participated in the meeting, including Zhong Li, member of the Standing Committee of Zhanjiang Municipal Party Committee and Minister of Zhanjiang United Front Work Department and Liang Chunming, Director of the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau of Zhanjiang. Huang Dahai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, presided over the meeting in Conference Room No. 1.

Huang Dahai mainly introduced the cooperation between our school and foreign schools in recent years. He pointed out that LNU has signed friendly cooperation contracts with more than 70 foreign universities and 9 education institutions in the United States, Britain, Germany and Hong Kong, and nearly 1,500 students have been selected and sent to study abroad. LNU has made great achievements in cooperation with foreign schools. It has set up the Asian Diving Institute and the International Business School of Aquatic Products. It has also jointly set up the "Confucius Classroom" with Belarusian State University of Physical Culture and successfully held 2 "Confucius Classroom" Summer Camps. These achievements have not only promoted the development of collaborative education, but also improved the popularity of our school. Huang Dahai thanked the municipal leaders for their support for the cooperation between our university and Stockton University, and hoped that by strengthening the exchange and cooperation between the two universities, the development of the two cities could be further promoted.

Liang Chunming introduced the basic situation of Stockton University in the United States. He said that Stockton University has a beautiful natural environment and a safe public security environment, and its development trend is similar to that of our university. In his opinion, LNU should strengthen communication with the Stockton University to accelerate the cooperation project; LNU should also timely follow up the progress of signing cooperation project contracts, take measures to reduce the burden of overseas study expenses for students of both sides, and stimulate the enthusiasm of students to apply for graduate study abroad.

Zheng Zhijun, Director of the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation, reviewed the progress of LNU's cooperation with foreign countries last year at the meeting and made a plan on how to promote the cooperation between our school and Stockton University. Sun Weidong, Dean of the School of Foreign Studies, also reported on the situation of students studying abroad and students' willingness of going to the United States to study.

Deng Fengguang, Director of the Organization Department of the Party Committee, Li Yue, Director of the Students' Affairs Office, Xiao Jianchun, Deputy Director of the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation, Li Zishen, Director of the International Affairs Department and other officials attended the meeting.
