At the exchange meeting
LNU Press Center News:On the morning of April 17, Lan Yanze, Vice President of Lingnan Normal University (LNU), ZhengZhijun, Director of the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation, and Huang Xuehong, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Division, welcomed Dr. Zhang Qijun, President of Overseas Chinese Society for Technology and Business in the UK (OCSTAB). The two sides held talks on relevant educational cooperation programs at No. 1 Conference Hall.
At the exchange meeting, Lan Yanze expressed warm welcome to Dr. Zhang's visit and introduced the general situation and history of LNU. She pointed out that LNU has established cooperative relations with universities in more than 30 countries and regions, and also has cooperated with the UK these years. She hoped to discuss the possibility of cooperation with Dr. Zhang.
Dr. Zhang highly praised the history, spirit and culturaldevelopment of LNU, which, he said, are a reflection of the high brand value of LNU and the key to attracting overseas universities and research institutions to cooperate. Zhang stated that his education and vocational training service company is a partner of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, the Health Human Resources Development Center of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, and the Oriental International Education Exchange Center of the China Scholarship Councilin the UK. In recent years, the company has been engaging inefficient work in promoting Sino-UK education cooperation, talent exchange and vocational training. He said that they can help LNU cooperate with many universities in the UK, and introduced in detail programs of organizing teachers and students to study and vocational training in the UK, and existing problems.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed about the possibility of cooperation in the following aspects and reached a consensus: 1. Establish a joint training mechanism, and cooperate on credit courses at universities in the UK in summer; 2. Young and middle-aged teachers at LNUgo abroad to study, carry out scientific research cooperation and improve their level of scientific research and teaching; 3. Provide special technical training services and student exchanges based on the needs of LNU; 4. Hold summer camps for university students with study tours as the main form.
In addition, Lan Yanze said LNU seeks talent with eagerness, hopingthe company Dr. Zhang serves can invite orassign experts from the UK to LNU for guidance, lectures, and collaborative research based on the needs of LNU; and assist LNU in recruiting urgently needed talents in the UK. Dr. Zhang expressed his willingness to recruit talents in the UK properly. The two sides also had in-depth discussions on the concept of foreign talent introduction. Dr. Zhang suggested LNU create space for free development of talents, give appropriatetime as a buffer period, aim for development instead of restrictions, provide different talent introduction conditions for different stages to enable newly introduced talents to have room for development and choice, thus recognize the value of the university and create greater possibilities for working at the university. Lan Yanze agreed with Dr. Zhang.
After a pleasant talk, the two sides agreed that the talk was fruitful and they had broad prospects for cooperation.
After the meeting, President Liu Minggui also met with Dr. Zhang and discussed about the plan of recruiting talents in the UK. Dr. Zhang said he will provide great assistance for the recruitment.
