Zhanjiang City has a warm climate but our feelings are warmer than the climate.” On the afternoon of December 6, Lingnan Normal University had a cooperation and exchange meeting in the Conference Room 1 with the Delegation of Belarusian State University of Physical Culture. In the meeting, President Liu Minggui warmly welcomed the Delegation of Belarusian State University of Physical Culture.
President Liu Minggui, Vice President Huang Wei, Chief Zheng Zhijun, Deputy Chief Xiao Jianchun of International Exchanges and Cooperation Division, Party Secretary Ke Chunming of School of Literature and Media, Dean Zhang Xiaoshuang of School of Sports Science, Vice President Kovalenya Vladimir of BSUPC, Foreign Principal Kastseyava Natallia and Chinese Principal Song Peng of Confucius Classroom attended the meeting and the meeting was presided over by Huang Wei.
Liu Minggui briefly introduced Lingnan Normal University and the history, thanked Belarusian State University of Physical Culture for supporting the Confucius Classroom and extended greetings to LNU students in Confucius Classroom. He stressed that LNU attaches great importance to cooperation with foreign schools and now has established close cooperation relationships with nearly one hundred colleges and universities all over the world. BSUPC is one of the important partners. Confucius Classroom run jointly by LNU and BSUPC is our first Confucius Classroom founded in cooperation with foreign school. Liu Minggui proposed three objectives of “integrating Confucius Classroom into the Thirteen Five-Year Plan of LNU”, “upgrading Confucius Classroom into Confucius Institute” and “expanding cooperation and exchanges with BSUPC in other areas” based on the current outcomes achieved between LNU and BSUPC.
Huang Wei hopes that both parties can intensify cooperation in different areas through joint efforts, build a broader platform for teachers and students from both universities and maintain the sustainable cooperation between LNU and BSUPC.
“The common ground presents me the future and LNU and BSUPC both have a promising future.” Kovalenya Vladimir spoke highly of the students and teachers from LNU and thanked for their support in Martial Arts, rehabilitation and health care and tea-making art in the Confucius Classroom. He believes LNU Martial Arts Team has positive influence on BSUPC as well as Belarus. Kovalenya Vladimir hopes to further expand exchanges and cooperation with LNU in culture, education and other areas such as Chinese literature, sports education for teenagers and expects LNU to initiate summer camp and other cultural exchanges activities for the Confucius Classroom. He also said they welcome LNU students to pursue master's degree in BSUPC.
Both parties discussed in depth the operation of Confucius Classroom, internship of LNU Martial Art Team in BSUPC, selection of Chinese teachers to teaching in Confucius Classroom, construction of Confucius Classroom, summer camp of Confucius Classroom and teachers and students exchange programs, and reached a consensus for deep cooperation matters.
It's learnt that on December 6 and 7, the delegation visited School of Sports Science and School of Literature and Media, further discussing about expatriate teachers for Confucius Classroom, cultural exchanges, exchanges between teachers and students and academic conferences.
