We are looking forward to broader cooperation with the University of Lincoln. Liu Minggui welcomed the arrival of David Cobham and thanked him for his third visit to Lingnan Normal University and sincere cooperation intention. He proposed several orientations of cooperation with University of Lincoln: collaborative setup of undergraduate engineering majors (electromechanical engineering and computer), collaborative MD-PhD development program, research cooperation programs and collaborative research center, and exchanges between students and teachers, showing the aspiration to work with the University of Lincoln.

David Cobham thanked LNU for warm reception. He said they welcome LNU teachers and students to go to the University of Lincoln for exchanges and study. Both parties shared resources in the cooperation areas and wished cooperation can be advanced and specified in this visit on the basis of previous talks.

Huang Wei believed the cooperation should be based on the national demands, Guangdong demands and local demands. Both parties should accurately fine out the breaking point of cooperation on the basis of specialties of two schools, refine and normalize the cooperation in parallel with the rapid advancement. He also proposed an idea to hold an international academic research symposium with the University of Lincoln.

In the meeting, both parties thoroughly discussed cooperation matters and finally determined to launch two collaborative undergraduate programs of machinery design, manufacturing & automation and computer science and technology and set up an intelligent control system research center with the University of Lincoln. In the next year, LNU will send teachers of these majors to exchange and learn the experience in the University of Lincoln as visiting scholars.

This exchange meeting is productive and both universities further defined cooperation orientations and the way of specific implementation. Based on the exchange contents of this meeting, both parties are prepared to draw up a detailed cooperation agreement, laying a robust foundation for future cooperation between LNU and the University of Lincoln.
