At the exchange

LNU Press Center News: On the afternoon of April 6, Gao Bin, Director of Guangdong Office of Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU), and Yang Jiarong, DPU’s teaching affairs assistant, visited Lingnan Normal University. Entrusted by Deng Fengguang, Director of LNU’s International Exchange and Cooperation Division, staff led by Zheng Zhijun and Xiao Jianchun, both deputy directors of the division, held an exchange with the Thailand delegation in Conference Room 1 at LNU’s office building.
Following an introduction made by each party about its university, an in-depth discussion was made on the joint-training program for graduate students, under which graduate students were co-educated by both universities, with duties on teaching and guidance on thesis held by both sides and a master degree recognized by both Chinese and Thailand governmental authorities issued by DPU’s China-ASEAN Institute to students upon their graduation. Representatives from both sides proposed that joint-training could be implemented initially on certain disciplines to exploit advantages of both universities. It is learnt that DPU’s China-ASEAN Institute teaches in Chinese for its Chinese students to fewer their language obstacles.
Both sides exchanged views on three cooperation models including “4+2” 6-year undergraduate and graduate program, “2+2” dual undergraduate training program and “3.5+0.5+1.5” 6-year undergraduate and graduate program. With various problems that may occur in the cooperation cautiously and candidly discussed, both sides agreed to further dig into what can be done under the joint effort. This meeting set the foundation and direction for future formal cooperation between DPU and LNU.
