Li Zhongmin expressed gratitude for the hospitality offered by LNU’s faculties and students and his unwillingness to say goodbye to us. He said although he was here for only 10 days, he would never forget all the wonderful experience here and wish to see all LNU people again in the future. The Korean students showed their calligraphy and paper cutting works at the closing ceremony.
Zheng Zhijun said this event made deep impression on Korean students, who benefited a lot from classic classes with Chinese characteristics including entry-level Chinese language, calligraphy, martial arts, Chinese fine arts, music, traditional Chinese instruments and crafting and extra-school activities including a study on Leizhou culture and city tour. Through these studies, students understand the traditional Zhanjiang culture and enjoyed LNU’s beautiful campus scenery, with their cross-cultural experience increased. He hoped the students could remember all these wonderful memories and every time in the future the thought of winter camp could remind them of Zhanjiang, LNU and the LNU people.
Deng Fengguang awarded certificates to students of the winter camp. The ceremony also presented the students with a video recording the past ten-day wonderful experience in the winter camp, which brought students to laugh several times.
The closing ceremony was followed by an evening party with Sino-Korean cultural integration as its theme. It was a visual and auditory feast for the audience. The singing team performed the Chinese classics The Chinese Nation and The Chinese People, which evoked patriotism among the audience and resonated with Chinese both at home and abroad, narrowing the distance between Korean and LNU students. The audience appreciated the unique traditional Chinese culture as they watched the tactful performance of the drama Chao Yang Village, the ensemble of Palm-leaf Beat by Raindrop performed by traditional Chinese instruments and the graceful traditional Chinese dancing. The lively fashion show, dynamic street dancing and mysterious magic show immersed the audience in vigor and vitality of Korean and LNU students. Korean students also presented multiple song singing and dancing performances. The audience waved phones in their highly raised hands with the flashlight on and the party turned into a sea of lights with the atmosphere at the climax. The singing of Friends represented the valuable friendship among domestic and overseas Chinese as well as expressed the feeling of “long distance separates no bosom friends” in the hearts of the Korean students.
