LNU Press Center News: On the afternoon of January 7, Chen Zhenmei, Head of International Exchange Division of Cheongju University, Li Zhongmin from Cheongju University and Tang Jing from KCA Korea International Students Information Center visited LNU at our invitation. Peng Quanqun, Deputy Secretary of LNU’s Party Committee, met the delegation and had a discussion with the Korean side on further cooperation between the two universities. The meeting was attended by heads from LNU’s International Exchange and Cooperation Division, School of Mathematics and Computer Science, Business School, School of Fine Arts and other secondary units.

After watching the image promotion video of each university, Mr. Peng Quanqun made a speech to welcome the delegation on behalf of LNU. He talked delightfully about the visit to Cheongju University last November and about the significance of the student and teacher exchange programs between the both sides on the full play of each other’s advantages and the development of quality talents and teachers. Division Head Chen Zhenmei complimented on LNU’s academic culture and picturesque scenery and expressed the willingness to try her best to look into how to further our cooperation.

After an in-depth exchange and discussion, both sides agreed on the following disciplines for the cooperation: 1. Introduce teachers from Cheongju University for Korean language teaching improvement in LNU, thus laying a solid foundation in language for the cooperation; 2. Make an all-round endeavor to implement the program where students from LNU receive graduate education at Cheongju University; 3. Make a joint effort to launch a PhD program at Cheongju University with the students mainly constituted by LNU teachers; 4. Implement the pair-share style learning project between students at both universities. Discussions were also made on detailed aspects of exchange students including tuition, degree, recognition of credits and language standard.

It is learnt that this is a return visit made by the delegation from Cheongju University to LNU after our delegation led by Peng Quanqun visited Cheongju University in last November. The fruits from this discussion will benefit further cooperation between our sides and improve our talent development.
