Director Deng Fengguang delivers a welcome speech
LNU News Center: On the morning of January 7, the opening ceremony of 2015 Overseas Youth Winter Camp in LNU was held at Hong Garden 420 of Lingnan Normal University (LNU). Twenty-two teachers and students from Cheongju University (CJU) of South Korea participate in the camp, during which they will carry out exchanges and studies for about 10 days, including cooking, martial arts, calligraphy, Chinese as well as sightseeing of famous scenic spots in Zhanjiang to experience Chinese culture and perceive the charm of Zhanjiang.
Chan Jung Mi, Director of the Office of International Affairs of CJU, Lee Jong Min, the leading teacher of the camp, Deng Fengguang, Director of the LNU Office of International Exchange & Cooperation, Cao Qiao, Party Secretary of the School of Physical Education, Liu Huiqing, Dean of the School of Humanities, Sun Jianhua, Dean of the School of Music, Chen Daohai, Dean of the School of Life Sciences and Technology, Zheng Zhijun, Deputy Director of the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation, Xiao Jianchun, Deputy Director of the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation, Qiao Zhiqiang, Deputy Dean of the School of Fine Arts, Feng Cailian, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Foreign Languages of LNU, together with course teachers of the camp, attended the ceremony which was presided over by Zheng Zhijun.
At the opening ceremony, Deng Fengguang, Director of the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation, on behalf of LNU, first extended a warm welcome to the teachers and students of CJU, and then briefly introduced the long history, beautiful environment and good quality of school running of LNU as well as the exchange and cooperation with CJU. He said that LNU has carefully arranged a number of activities and courses for the 20 students from CJU in their upcoming one-week cultural tour. It is hoped that the students will experience the profound culture of China with the heart.
Lee Jong Min, the leading teacher of CJU, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the warm reception of LNU. “Despite the short duration, the winter camp will make us have a deep understanding of Chinese culture and we will strive to create beautiful memories.” He hopes that the two sides will establish a deep friendship through this transnational event.
Liu Xiaoyi, a student representative of LNU School of Foreign Languages, said that the 2015 Overseas Youth Winter Camp is a platform for emotional, cultural and intellectual exchanges, through which teachers and students of the two universities will participate in various cultural activities, so as to enrich knowledge and boost communication and friendship. After that, student Yoo June Moo from CJU expressed the gratitude to LNU teachers and students as well as wishes for the event in fluent Chinese.
Director Deng Fengguang awarded the winter camp banner to the leading teacher Lee Jong Min, and announced the official opening of the “2015 Overseas Youth Winter Camp in LNU”. After the opening ceremony, teachers and students from CJU visited the LNU campus.
