President Luo Hai’ou of LNU and Vice-Principal Mark of Abertay University

 

LNU News Center: On November 23, Mark Batho, Vice-Principal of the Abertay University, Scotland, Maria Law, Internationalisation Manager of Abertay University, and Wang Ling, representative of Abertay’s program in China, visited Lingnan Normal University (LNU).

President Luo Hai’ou of LNU met with the delegation, during which the two sides had a short conversation and took photos. Vice President Huang Wei of LNU held and hosted the exchange meeting in the No. 1 Conference Room, the participants of which also include Deng Fengguang, Director of the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation, Jin Yifu, Director of the Scientific Research Office, Xu Tang, Dean of the School of Information Science and Technology, and Zheng Zhijun, Deputy Director of the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation.

Huang Wei first expressed his warm welcome to the Abertay delegation and then introduced the history, development scale & speed, teaching quality and international exchanges of LNU. He also expressed the willingness of LNU to cooperate with Abertay University, presented a souvenir to and took photos with the delegation.

Mark Batho next showed the basic situation of Abertay University through PPT. Starting with the geographical location as well as the social system and university system of Scotland, he gave a brief introduction to the dominant disciplines, university structure, improvement of academic system and tuition fees of Abertay. He also said that with an emphasis on training of technical talents, Abertay University equips itself with a dedicated research team and the advantageous discipline - computer games technology.

After that, the two sides held talks on exchanges and cooperation. LNU proposed the scientific research cooperation in gamification learning, as well as teacher exchanges and student programs, which received a positive response from the Abertay delegation. The two sides had a sound exchange concerning joint undergraduate training, postgraduate training and program-driven development, and finally reached a consensus that the LNU side will visit Abertay University next year for the implementation of cooperation.

After the meeting, Huang Wei presented a souvenir to the Abertay delegation and took a group photo.

It is said that leaders of the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation led the delegation to visit the campus before the talks.
