From October 7 to 14, Vice President Li Jiangling of Lingnan Normal University (LNU), together with Cheng Zijian, Director of the LNU Logistics Industry Office, and Xiao Jianchun, Deputy Director of the LNU Office of International Exchange & Cooperation, visited the University of Agriculture in Krakow (UAK), Poland and Inholland University of Applied Sciences (IUAS) on invitation. The delegation made in-depth exchanges and discussions with UAK and IUAS leaders and principals of its subordinate schools concerning campus building culture, campus garden management, energy conservation and emission reduction system, professional cooperation, exchanges of teachers and students, etc. The visit achieved great success.
On October 8, Dr. Hab. Stanislaw Malek, Vice President of UAK in Scientific Research, Policy Implementation and Foreign Exchange and Cooperation, and his secretary hosted the delegation in his office. He introduced the general situation, campus architecture style, campus garden management, measures taken for energy conservation and emission reduction, specific practices for receiving foreign visiting scholars, student exchange and courses taught in English for international students of UAK. The delegation then conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges and discussions with Dr. Hab. Stanislaw Malek, based on the actual situation of LNU and the successful practices of UAK in campus architecture, facility construction and management, and school-running initiatives. Finally, the two sides reached a consensus on preliminary cooperation in disciplines, exchange of teachers and students, and sharing of academic achievement.
After the meeting, the delegation went to the Department of Space Management and Landscape Architecture of the UAK School of Environmental Engineering and Geodesy, where the department head Krzysztof Gawronski and relevant personnel introduced the existing scale and development of the Department of Space Management and Landscape Architecture. The delegation was then taken to view students’ architectural drawings and finally visited the main campus that fully reflects the concept of energy conservation and emission reduction at UAK.
On October 11, the delegation went to the Delft Campus of IUAS for exchanges. Professor Egbert Bol, Deputy Dean of the School of Engineering, Design and Computing in internationalization of education, welcomed the delegation warmly. Professor Egbert Bol introduced the general situation, curriculum system, foreign exchange and cooperation, campus architecture and landscaping of IUAS through PPT presentation. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on campus architecture culture, garden management and energy conservation and emission reduction of IUAS. Vice President Li and Director Cheng also shared the highlights and achievements of LNU in campus construction, energy conservation and emission reduction and garden management. Later, Professor Egbert Bol led the delegation members to visit the library, student dormitory, comprehensive training building and student social studio of the Delft Campus, making them learn about the novel practices of IUAS in campus architecture, facility management mechanisms, space utilization, and environmental greening. The members were deeply impressed by the clean campus environment, elegant European architectural style and strong awareness of environmental protection & greening, which offered new ideas in the exploration of campus culture construction and building of a green and environmentally friendly campus.
The exchanges in just a few days not only consolidated the friendship of LNU with the existing cooperative institutions, but also established cooperative relationship with new institutions, which set up a new platform for the international exchange and cooperation of LNU.
