LNU News Center: On the morning of October 21, the exchange meeting with Dr. Miranda Lin from the University of Illinois was held in the No. 1 Conference Room. Fan Zhaoxiong, Dean of the School of Educational Science took the chair, and He Yunpeng, Secretary of the School of Educational Science, Zheng Zhijun, Deputy Director of the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation, Professor Wu Wudian of the School of Educational Science and Director Xu Baoliang of the Department of Preschool Education attended the meeting.

 

Dean Fan Zhaoxiong first expressed a warm welcome to Dr. Lin, and briefed her on the history, situation and scale of school running of Lingnan Normal University (LNU). He emphasized the characteristics of LNU in normal education and introduced the School of Educational Science specifically. Deputy Director Zheng Zhijun then introduced the international exchange and cooperation of LNU, especially the cooperation with American universities. Professor Wu Wudian also introduced the advantages of LNU in international education cooperation, especially the cooperation with Taiwan.

Dr. Lin later introduced the situation of the University of Illinois, focusing on the history of normal education and its instructional normal education. She said that the common background of normal education lays a broad basis for future cooperation.

The two sides exchanged views on master’s training, doctoral training, student exchange, short-term study programs, teacher visits, teaching and research. Both sides indicated that there is great space for cooperation, and they will strengthen communication to promote exchanges and cooperation. After the meeting, Dean Fan Zhaoxiong presented a souvenir to Dr. Lin on behalf of LNU and took a group photo.

The two sides reached preliminary cooperative intention through the short but efficient talks. They conducted preliminary research on the cooperation framework agreement. It is expected to sign a formal agreement in this December, laying a foundation for future cooperation.
