Lingnan Normal University News Center News: On the evening of June 5, 13 teachers and students from BSUPC attended the closing ceremony of Summer Camp of the Confucius Classroom. They just finished two weeks of experience and learning at LNU. Wang Hengyin, Deputy Director of University Affairs Administration Committee of LNU, presented the certificates of summer camp to BSUPC students, followed by the souvenirs exchange with Natallia Kastseyeva, Belarusian Director of Confucius Classroom at BSUPC.

Mr. Wang noted that during various Chinese culture learning courses and outdoor activities, the participant students had the chance to spend time together, exchange their ideas and culture, and develop friendship. In the process, they became closer and grew attached to each other. Besides, students were nurtured with perseverance, indomitable spirit and broad-mindedness. Mr. Wang hoped that the students of LNU will bring the positive energy obtained in this summer camp into the future academic study and daily life to harvest brighter results in their youth. And young students from Belarus could play an active role in spreading Chinese culture, as well as promoting the exchanges between Chinese civilization and other civilizations. Everyone at the camp can be a part of the co-operative construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and bring Chinese fine culture to more places.

“Cross-cultural exchange knows no boundaries, much less distance, because it is based on mutual respect, understanding and deep friendship.” Natallia Kastseyeva put it this way. In her opinion, the summer camp promoted cultural exchange and increased friendship between LNU and BSUPC. The mutual cooperation enhanced cultural values through the communication of languages and exchange of hearts. She wished to develop more channels of cooperation in the future, and that the friendship between China and Belarus would be everlasting.

“Chinese culture is so extensive and profound!” a BSUPC student Aliasandra Vasko said so in Chinese. When she took part in the Chinese culture courses, she felt the teachers and staff at the summer camp just liked her family, who helped and cared her so much. She learned a lot at LNU. Cao Bixia, a student from LNU, spoke in Russian that she also learned a lot when studying with Belarusian peers. She was touched by their pursuit of perfection. What also impressed her was that Belarusian students had a lot of passion for Chinese painting, ancient poetry, Chinese martial arts and other traditional Chinese culture. They studied hard in the classes too.

At the closing ceremony, students from both two universities presented what they had learned through singing, dancing, playing martial arts, reciting poems, and other performances. Except for the learning outcomes, their friendship was also witnessed by the audience.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Zheng Zhijun, Director of the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation. And the directors of some departments and schools of LNU participated in the event.
