Lan Yanze, President of Lingnan Normal University, delivered a speech at the Opening Ceremony of the International Scientific Congress held in Belarus

On the morning of October 15 local time in Belarus, the Opening Ceremony of the XXV International Scientific Congress “Olympic Sports and Sports for All” was held at the International Conference Center of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus. The Congress has been held since 1995 when it was initiated and hosted by the International Association of Physical Education and Sport Universities established in Kazakhstan. It is an international exchange platform for sports scientific research aimed at discussing and promoting the international Olympic sports and the healthy development of all human beings. The Congress was organized by the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture (BSUPC) this year.

 

Due to the impact of global COVID-19 pandemic, this Congress was held in a combined form of the live session and video speech. As one of the main international guests, Lan Yanze, President of  Lingnan Normal University (LNU), was invited to deliver a video message at the opening ceremony. As the first foreign guest to speak, Prof. Lan Yanze first wished the Congress a complete success, and recognized the pragmatic cooperation between our two universities in recent years. She was confident that the two universities will make a success in schooling of the Confucius Institute through joint efforts and have more in-depth exchanges and cooperation in the days to come. Her speech was highly applauded by the Belarusian side. Meanwhile, the Minister of Sport and Tourism of Belarus Kovalchuk Sergey Mikhailovich also expressed his appreciation for Lan’s speech, and said that a deepened cooperation with China would bring them a bright future.

 

Pinevich Dmitry Leonidovich (Minister of Health of Belarus), Matytsin Oleg Vasilyevich (Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation), Dovgalionok Dmitry Alexandrovich (President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus), Zakiryanov Kairat Khairullinovich (President of International Association of Physical Education and Sport Universities), and Repkin Sergey Borisovich (President of the BSUPC) attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. And those who delivered a video message at the ceremony included Mitev Lozan (President of the National Sports Academy of Bulgaria), Bulatova Maria Mikhailovna (President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine), Sadovsky Ezhi (President of Józef Piłsudski University of Physical Education in Warsaw, Poland), Dzaganiya Dzhemal Georgievich (President of the Georgian State Educational University of Physical Training and Sport), Boltabaev Mahmudzhan Rustamovich (President of Uzbek State University of Physical Education and Sport), Gezalyan Araik Gevorgovich (President of Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport), Marotta Roberto (President of the Italian International Federation of Roller Sports), and Taidzhi Hozava (President of Sendai University of Japan).

 

Jointly established by LNU and BSUPC, the Confucius Institute at BSUPC, as one of the main organizers of this Congress, is responsible for the dialogue and exchanges between China and Belarus. A video roundtable session will be held and attended by the experts and scholars of LNU and Belarus to discuss the cooperation between the two parties in sports science.
