News from LNU News Center: On April 22, Lingnan Normal University (LNU) and Josai International University, Japan (JIU), held an online meeting on cooperation issues including the 2+2 dual degree program for undergraduates and the doctoral professional development program for teachers. Lan Yanze, President of LNU, attended the meeting.
In the meeting, President Lan introduced the general situation of LNU in the aspects of history, discipline fields, specialty construction, running resources, teaching staff, talent cultivation, international cooperation and exchanges, etc. She said that LNU has been attaching great importance to international exchanges and cooperation, yielding substantial and gratifying results. LNU also attaches great importance in cooperation and exchanges with Japanese universities. In recent years, LNU successively started the cooperation with Nagano University, Matsumoto University and Okayama Shoka University. Since Josai International University is a comprehensive university of arts and science that meets the internationalization requirements of the times, Lan expressed the hope that the two universities may explore and enact a friendly and win-win cooperation and exchange model through this online exchange, to jointly cultivate high-caliber application-oriented talents with comprehensive development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor.
Masato Kurabayashi, Vice President of JIU, stated that Josai International University attaches great importance to international exchanges with a look at the future, and has successively cooperated with more than 200 universities around the world. He hopes JIU may reach a cooperation intention with LNU through this online exchange, so as to develop a multi-level talent training model, and jointly cultivate talents conforming to international development.
Zheng Zhijun, Director of the International Exchange & Cooperation Office, presided over the meeting, with participants including Wu Xiaochun, Deputy Dean of the School of Foreign Studies, Xia Jialiang, Deputy Director of the Office of Teaching Affairs, Li Zishen, Deputy Director of the International Exchange & Cooperation Office, Zhou Yang, Deputy Dean of the School of Foreign Studies, Mo Haixia, Section Chief of the Ideological and Political Education Section of Office of Student Affairs, and relevant staff from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, among whom Dr. Zhang Rui, Director of Teaching and Research Section of the Japanese Department of the School of Foreign Studies, acted as the interpreter for the meeting.
