On December 23, 2025, Lingnan Normal University held the 2026 New Year Forum for foreign faculty. Thirteen foreign teachers from nine countries gathered to review their work and life at the university in 2025 and to share their visions for 2026. Professor Tang Yu, Vice President of Lingnan Normal University, attended the forum and delivered a speech. The forum was hosted by Director Zheng Zhijun of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation.

On behalf of the university, Tang Yu extended sincere New Year greetings to all foreign faculty and expressed heartfelt gratitude for their hard work and outstanding contributions over the past year. He highlighted the university’s significant progress in international education, scientific research, and cultural exchange, emphasizing the crucial role played by foreign faculty in these achievements. He particularly noted that Dr. Ahmed from Egypt had been listed for two consecutive years among the “Top 2% of Global Scientists by Annual Impact,” becoming a shining example of the university’s internationalized research.

During the forum, foreign faculty actively shared their experiences in teaching, research, and life at Lingnan Normal University, offering insights and valuable suggestions. Dr. Dzmitry from Belarus remarked, “The cooperation between Lingnan Normal University and Belarus has become increasingly close. The newly established China - Belarus Digital Sports Research Center has injected new vitality into our research collaboration. Working in such an open and inclusive academic environment is truly an honor for me as a researcher.”

Tang Yu attentively listened to each speaker and responded to concerns regarding teaching support and living services. He emphasized that the university will continue to optimize its services for foreign faculty, improve work mechanisms, and enhance support, aiming to create a warmer, more convenient, and efficient environment for both work and life.

As 2026 marks the Chinese Lunar Year of the Horse, Tang Yu used the horse as a symbol to convey his wishes for the future, encouraging foreign faculty to uphold a spirit of progress and to continue collaborating with the university in talent development, research cooperation, and cultural exchange, jointly advancing the university’s internationalization.

The forum concluded in a warm and harmonious atmosphere, with Tang Yu personally extending New Year blessings and taking a group photo with the participants.

This forum further strengthened communication between the university and its foreign faculty, enhancing their sense of belonging and affection for the university. Lingnan Normal University will continue to pursue an international education path, enhance humanistic care, and provide diverse development platforms, working together with all foreign faculty to write a new chapter of “Education Without Borders, Civilization in Harmony.”
