Recently, the Award Ceremony of “Outstanding Chinese Students and Educators in Belarus” was held by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus in the auditorium of the National Library of Belarus. More than 1500 people attended the event, including Cui Qiming, Ambassador of Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus, Karpenko, Minister of Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, representatives of educators from China and Belarus, and representatives of Chinese students in Belarus. Nine Chinese students from the School of Physical Education and Sports Science of Lingnan Normal University (LNU) that were Wang Liying, Chen Lang, Tang Qiuxian, Qiu Guangwei, Lei Hanjie, Yu Jialiang, You Juliang, Hu Bingyi and Ren Jie, were awarded the title of “Outstanding Chinese Student” by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, and received the award presented by Karpenko.
Karpenko said, “the successful holding of this event has two implications. One is that it creates opportunities for exchange with Chinese students, and exchange between China and Belarus in talent training. The other is that this is a special event that is committed to the smooth implementation of the Year of Education between China and Belarus Initiative. In view of this, the award ceremony was held in the National Library of Belarus, a place that symbolizes the ocean of knowledge.” Cui Qiming delivered a speech, wishing Belarus a complete success in a series of activities held in the framework of the Year of Education between China and Belarus. He highly praised the people who have studied and worked in Belarus and made contributions to the educational cause of Belarus, and affirmed the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus for China’s educational work.
Since its formal establishment on November 5th , 2015, the “Confucius Classroom” jointly founded by LNU and Belarusian State University of Physical Culture (BUSPC) has become an important bridge for maintaining the educational, cultural and sports ties between China and Belarus, and has played an important role in promoting the cultivation of international sports talents in China and Belarus, furthering the exchanges between China and Belarus in education, culture and sports, and deepening the friendship between two countries. Our “Confucius Classroom” was rated as one of the five “Advanced Confucius Classrooms” among the 1193 Confucius Classrooms in the world in 2018.
At present, there are 23 graduates from the School of Physical Education and Sports Science of LNU studying for master's degree and doctor's degree in Belarus. The award to these nine sports science students studying at BUSPC by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus fully reflects the quality of our talent training, highlights the outstanding achievements we have made in the cultivation of international sports talents, and reaffirms our confidence in the cultivation of international sports talents!
