9 Thai Exchange Students to Take 2-month Study at LNU

LNU News Center: on the evening of March 28, the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation held a welcome dinner and meeting for 9 exchange students from Rajamangala University of Technology. Vice President Dai Shu delivered a message of welcome, hoping the exchange students will have better learning experience and improve their Chinese proficiency in the University.

 

Dai Shu extended warm welcome to the exchange students and hoped that they could learn more knowledge and gain better understanding of Chinese culture at the University. He also noted that the LNU staff would offer full service to them.  

 

Director of International Exchange & Cooperation Office Zheng Zhijun presided over the meeting, introduced the leaders and teachers present at the meeting for Thai students, and briefed them on Chinese lessons, cultural experience lessons and cultural exchange activities.

 

Welcome to LNU. I am happy that you choose to study Chinese here, said Zhao Jinzhong, President of School of Literature & Media, hoping that Thai students would be able to further understand Chinese and make significant progress in their spoken Chinese. Li Deshen, Deputy Secretary of CPC Fine Arts & Design School Committee, hoped that the exchange students would be able to better experience and feel local culture during their interaction and communication with LNU teachers and students. Chen Daohai, President of School of Life Science & Technology, hoped that the exchange student would be able to experience the profound Chinese culture by having plenty of Chinese food and taking cooking lessons.

 

I came here to improve my Chinese, said the exchange student Yuzhen. I want to know more about China, said the exchange student Chen Hanhui. The Thai students talked with the teachers about their goals to study in China.

 

Since 2004, with the coordination of the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation, LNU and Rajamangala University of Technology have been jointly operating the exchange students program. The latest exchange program will last to the end of May. During the two months, the 9 Thai students will study Chinese at the School of Literature & Media, School of Fine Arts and Design, School of Physical Education & Sport Science, and School of Life Science & Technology, attend the classes for Chinese calligraphy, martial arts, Tai Chi and cooking, carry out a variety of cultural exchanges, learn more about history and culture of Zhanjiang, and experience and learn Chinese culture.
